The Growing List

Scorzonera Hispanica
(black salsify or Spanish salsify, also known as black oyster plant, serpent root, viper's herb, viper's grass or Scorzonera) A root vegetable that has a mild oyster flavor.

Mantanghong Radish
How gorgeous are these Oriental radishes??? White on the outside and a deep purplish-pink on the inside...  We were looking at heirloom seeds, but couldn't resist this beautiful hybrid.  Fun fact:  1/3 of these roots grow above ground.

Agretti
(also called Roscano, Saltwort, or Barba dif rate) The flavor of this Italian green has been described as a livier, more vibrant version of spinach.  Research tells us it grows well in marshy area, so plant on the creek bank?

Mosiac Asparagus Bean
These beans have sweet, tender pods that can be stir-fried, steamed, deep-fried or added to soup. A native of Southern China.

Hinona Kabu Turnip
These funky turnips resemble a big French Breakfast Radish.  The flavor is mild.

 Tiger Melon!
Boldly colored and personal sized.  Seeds were purchased from another local farm Red Rosa Farm in Spencer, IN.
